Hello!

My name is Jen. I am a mother of two beautiful daughters and have created Beautiful Blessingways as a way to celebrate the miracles of pregnancy, birth, motherhood, and sisterhood.

WHAT IS A BLESSINGWAY?

The origin of Blessingways is an ancient ceremony that honoured a woman's transition to motherhood.

Many people are familiar with the term Blessingway as being the English translation of the Navajo/Diné word Hózhójí. In its simplest form it means all that is good, beautiful, harmonious, well being and the like. It is a name used for chants used in various ceremonies and rites at various stages of life, including childbirth for women. The chants are a prayer asking for divine favour and protection.

Blessingway is also the name used for the Pagan tradition that gathers friends of a pregnant woman on the full moon before her due date. In this ceremony, the women washed the pregnant friend's hair and feet with herbs, including lavender for endurance. They would create a circle and each woman would present a prayer or spiritual gift. Afterward, there would be feasting.

A modern-day adaptation has become a beautiful way to celebrate a pregnant mother and the impending birth of her child. Unlike a baby shower that has a bigger focus on the unborn baby, a Blessingway is all about celebrating the Mother, making sure she feels nurtured, supported and loved so that she moves towards the birth of her child with confidence.

We have created a way for you to create your own magical ceremony by providing you with a box that contains elegant, carefully curated products for each ceremony and to keep beyond the celebration.
So, who do you want to celebrate?
What beautiful goddess in your life deserves to be surrounded by love and positive energy as she approaches the birth of her child? Family member or friend, this is possibly the most memorable and magical gift you could give her!
Or maybe YOU are that goddess who, like me, doesn't feel like a baby shower is for you but would LOVE this?
Take initiative and contact your tribe, your girl gang, and say "Ladies, THIS is what I want to do!"
This isn't for any particular 'type' of woman, it will either appeal to you or not and you will create your own unique version of the experience simply by being you. It may be a very spiritual but simple gathering, it may be an elegantly styled event or maybe a bit of both, there are no rules and you can't get it wrong. You create the space and the energy of the day, just know that there is a whole lot of love in that box from me to YOU, woman to woman. The mother in me sees the mother in you.

IT'S ABOUT ALL OF US . .

This is about a coming together of women of community, joy, positive energy, strength, support, connection, ceremony, honour, simplicity, love and beauty. When women support and empower each other we ALL benefit from that positive feel-good energy created in the celebration.

As women we are magic, we always have been. We are the life creators.

It's time to blow on those magical embers and light that fire bright within us all. I have so much more that will be unfolding soon that is all about us, as women, connecting, loving and living this beautiful life. Stay tuned. . .
For now, know that you are loved.
Remember that you are magical and deserve to be celebrated, and so do your sisters.

TESTIMONIAL

"I have recently had the pleasure of celebrating pregnancy, motherhood and the impending birth of my third child with a ‘Beautiful Blessingway’.  Having had a lovely surprise baby shower for my first daughter, I didn’t have another for my second as it was never something I felt comfortable doing myself and I had everything I could possibly want or need.

What I really would have preferred was to have a blessingway. Had I of known about blessingways during my second pregnancy then I most certainly would have celebrated my pregnancy and motherhood in this way.  After a very good friend arranged a ‘Beautiful Blessingway’ for me recently, I have been able to come together with the special women in my life and share the joys and wonders of motherhood. We shared birth stories, words of wisdom and encouragement, blessed beads for me to create a bracelet to wear now as well as during and after the birth, lit a candle and poured all of our love into the flame which I can light during labour to remind me of the strength, love and support I have from all of those special people in my life. Jennifer did such a wonderful job setting up the location, decor, food and all of the lovely ceremonial parts including card reading, bead ceremony and the candle ceremony and much more. I truly felt like a goddess with everything that Jen had put into the whole blessingway and I am absolutely overwhelmed at how the ambience flowed from all of her hard work as well as her gorgeous personality. It was so amazing walking into such a surreal setting with the atmosphere more than I could ever ask for and the presentation of everything from the beautiful surroundings and the lovely tepee to the incredible food. My blessingway was without doubt the loveliest way to celebrate my pregnancy, motherhood and the bond I have with all of those brilliant women in my life and I have Jen to thank for all of that. The beautiful gift box which Jen also put together with a dream catcher she hand made for the nursery, the blessed beads, candle and the lovely letters, gifts and kind words from my friends and family was such a nice way to bring home parts of the day for me to remember. It was like opening up a little surprise and then brought back all of the lovely memories of the day.

I felt nurtured and honoured to be sitting there with so much positivity and knowing that I am not alone on my journey as a mother, especially being my third pregnancy (which even though I know each life created is a miracle), can sometimes feel forgotten.

It was such a beautiful positive way to connect to my loved ones and to focus on us as mothers and the excitement of a new edition into our lives. A way to remind all of us that we are connected and strong and together we can achieve miracles.”
